How To Check Your ARC Email From Off-Campus

  • You must use a computer that is connected to the Internet. It does not matter whether this computer is on campus, at your home, or anywhere else. As long as the computer you are using can get on the Internet, you can access your mail account using only a web browser. You will be able to read email, send email, check or update your calendar, or your contacts kept in your Outlook account on the server. You will be using a special version of Outlook that is web-based so you won’t have to configure the computer you are using or change any settings on the email program on that computer.
  • You must have an email account set up on the ARC network.
    • All faculty already have an email account set up for them.
    • Visit www.losrios.edu/password to retreive your password (if they do not remember their security questions and are unable to change it yourself). Temporary passwords can be obtained through the Business Services with a photo ID.
  • If you do have an account, your email address will be like those below.
    • You will login with your Employee ID# but on your emails, your email address will typically be the first six letters of your last name and the first letter of your first name followed by the “@arc.losrios.edu”. See examples below.
    • If someone else has a similar name as you, you may end up with an email that is slightly different from the standard so that there is no match.

If your name was Darth Vader:   your user name would be: vaderd and your email address would bevaderd@arc.losrios.edu

If your name was Luke Skywalker:  your user name would be skywall and your email address would beskywall@arc.losrios.edu

  • If you have an email account, but don’t know your password or want to change it, please visitwww.losrios.edu/password

  • Click on “OK”, and your e-mail account will appear in a new window in Outlook Web Access.

Once you are logged in, you will see a list of your current emails and several toolbars.

  • To open and read an email, click on the name of the sender.
  • Not all of the features of the full version of Outlook are available in the Web Access version so things may look a little different than when you log in from the college.  Click on the Help to learn more or see the links below.
