Are you interested in making videos for our students or colleagues? Great news! American River College now has a site license for all employees for Camtasia video creation and editing software and Snagit screen capture and recording software, both from TechSmith. The license is available to all ARC faculty and staff (not students) for use on Windows and Mac computers.

Download and Installation Information

If you have not yet downloaded Camtasia and Snagit software, please login to your Los Rios Google Drive and use your ARC email address to complete this ARC Camtasia and Snagit Request Form. The download links and keys for you will be on the last page of the form, so be sure to copy them from that screen. You will also receive an email with the download link and license keys after you complete the form. If you are having trouble accessing the form, please make sure that your LRCCD Google account is the only active account in your browser as the form is only shared with members of our organization. You may need to sign out of other accounts or use a different browser that has no other Google accounts logged in.

During the download and install process, you will need to create an account at the TechSmith site to complete the Camtasia installation. You can use your ARC email address and a new, individual TechSmith (creator of Camtasia) password. Then you will receive the latest information and updates when they are available and be able to download additional free assets for Camtasia.

Please note, if you have an ARC-issued computer, you may need to contact IT for assistance with installing the software. IT will download the software, and you will need your own Camtasia username and password to complete the installation. The ARC IT Department is using Service Central for requests.

  • If you need to report a problem or submit requests to the ARC IT Department, please go to Service Central https://losrios.edu/servicecentral where you can submit your inquiries and track your requests to resolution.
  • The Service Central Resource page provides information to get you acquainted with Service Central, including a short 2-minute overview video and quick reference guides to learn how to navigate the new system.
  • If you are unable to log into Service Central, you can leave a voicemail for the ARC IT Department at 916-484-8259.
