CAST & American River College Present: It’s All About Strategy
Facilitators: Donald Walker (CAST) and Lori Hokerson, Universal Design and Accessibility Coordinator (ITC)
Are you looking for an innovative, high quality instructional method that promotes student and faculty engagement, increases student satisfaction, and decreases faculty workload? It’s called Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and CAST will be at ARC September 27 to provide a 90 minute training for interested faculty. UDL is an instructional design approach that creates a barrier-free learning environment by emphasizing student abilities and being learner-centered. Best of all, UDL is intentionally focused on supporting student groups at ARC who are disproportionately impacted, however in doing so, it benefits all students in the process!
Please join us for our next session, which will be focused on the UDL considerations called “Strategy Development” This workshop will explore ways to build support for students into your instructional content that fosters their development of the skills needed to plan, track, and manage their own learning and progress in your class.
