The steps for adding people to your course have been updated to include more options. When you choose People from the course Navigation menu on the left of your course, the Add People window includes options for adding students by email (w1234567@apps.losrios.edu), by Login ID (w1234567), or by SIS ID (w1234567). This is the process for using the ubiquitous w-id:

1. Select Login ID or SIS ID
2. Type in the students’ w-ID, e.g. w1234567
3. Select Role (the default is Student)
4. Select the Section, if necessary
5. Select the Next button

You will see the student name displayed, and if it is correct select the Add Users button. You can also select Cancel or Start Over.

Hello Canvas Instructors!

As an early adopter of Canvas, you have charted the great unknown of a new LMS. You have dealt with enrollment challenges and a few other snags in the system, but you are also learning how to work effectively and efficiently in Canvas.

We invite you to this informal session where you will have an opportunity to tell us what’s working well and what’s not. You will also get a chance to share your tips and tricks, and to give advice to instructors who will be adopting Canvas next semester.
