Canvas Beyond the Basics

Would you like to go Beyond the Basics with Canvas? In this 3-hour, hands-on workshop, you will learn tips and tricks to make your course even more engaging for students and more efficient for you.

During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to practice:

1. Streamlining the Canvas page structure for viewing and accessibility using the Rich Content Editor (RCE),
2. Developing an assignments using VeriCite as a formative tool; using assignment groups; and adding individualized settings for dates, and for quizzes, times and attempts;
3. Customizing viewing options for the NEW Gradebook to save time with grading;
4. Using audio/video comments in SpeedGrader;
5. Configuring optional Course Navigation Menu items including ConferZoom and NameCoach;
6. Duplicating Canvas items including Pages, Assignments, Discussions, and Modules; and
7. Using Canvas extras to save time.

Notes: To get the most out of this workshop, please already be using Canvas in a web-enhanced, partially online, or fully online class. You will need a Development Shell to work in during this workshop. If you don’t have one, please request one from the Help option on your Canvas Course Navigation Menu 24 hours prior to the workshop.

Attendance at this workshop is limited to ARC employees.
